Clinical relevance, etiology and imaging Characteristics of cerebral venous sinus Thrombosis at a tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh

Background: Cerebral sinus thrombus (CVST) is a rare form of stroke often affects young people with diverse clinical, etiological and radiological presentation. The aim the study was to evaluate clinical relevance, etiologies, imaging characteristics CVST in Bangladesh.
 Methods: A prospective, observational done at tertiary care hospital patients recruited period January 2021 2023. 38 features suggestive cerebral venous thrombosis were studied thorough evaluation comprehensive work up.
 Results: mean age presentation 28.42 years female predominance (n = 24). Headache most common presenting symptoms (92%, n 35) followed by vomiting (52%, 20). Hemi paresis (38%; 14) sign cranial nerve palsy (26%, 10). 31% (n=12) had provoked among those cause found be pregnancy/puerperium 58% 7 patients) OCP which 25% 3). 69 % (n=26) unprovoked prothrombotic conditions 85% 22 idiopathic 15% 4). In magnetic resonance venography (MRV), 74% 28) transverse sinus, 53% 20) sigmoid 42% 16) saggital thrombosis.
 Conclusion: Clinical variable, etiology must determined, diagnostic method choice MRV. factor puerperium. Provoked more than frequently involved.
